Do you need tickets to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto?

Good news: The famous Fushimi Inari Taisha does not have an entry fee, so you do not need to purchase tickets to visit. Just show up and enjoy the stunning shrine and its renowned torii gates!

If you desire, you can make a small offering to the resident deity at the honden (the main hall), located just behind the Romon Gate, donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the famous Japanese samurai and feudal lord.

The torii gates along the temple trail represent donations (by individuals or entities), so if you want to make a substantial contribution, you can can have a torri gate with your name inscribed on the back.

Donations, small or large, are completely voluntary, and you can still enter Fushimi Inari Taisha and walk the famous trail of Torri gates without having to buy tickets.
